Why we started the village behind the mask
The Village Behind the mask was started by Nicholas Sidwell, owner of Ability Innovations and Children In Motion. Nick has had a strong passion for Occupational Therapy for many years and noticed the lack of support in Utah for the autism and disability communities. He decided to create a location, Ability Innovations in Layton Utah, that would offer Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy services all with a play-based focus. He has since opened Ability Innovations in Ogden Utah and Children In Motion in Murray Utah. As Nick operated these locations one problem kept creeping up again and again. That problem was the lack of community and resources for kids, parents, and family members who are in the Autism and Disability Communities. Nick began hosting parent support meetings and events directly through his businesses but he always knew he could do more. Nick started the Village Behind The Mask to create a large community and network of these families and resources that can directly benefit them. The Village Behind The Mask also aims to raise funds for grants to help families who struggle to provide their kids with the Therapy Resources they need. You can become part of the solution by joining the Village today.
